The Recap:
We introduced Jesus Messiah this week – although many knew this song already. In introducing the song, I asked that we consider the power that the name “Messiah” carries as we sang the song. That in calling Jesus the Messiah, we say that He is the Name above all names, that He is the Christ, the Son of God, the Chosen One, and Savior of the world. I think we often miss the gravity that the various names that are given to God carry.
I did unplugged versions of You Alone Can Rescue (Matt Redman) and The Saving One (Starfield) as backing songs for Communion. We will probably do these in the next month or two during the Easter season. Both are powerful songs – check them out:
