The power of photographs is amazing.
They take us places – places we’ve been and wish we could go.
Invoke feelings – feelings we cherished enough to capture using this medium.
They help us recall experiences and people.
They spark memories that we’d consider highs and lows in life.
I know, those are pretty obvious statements – not revelations at all; but I was recently scrolling through the Camera Roll on my iPhone and traveled, felt, recalled, and remembered some recent highs & lows:
- A ton of “set-up” shots for Facebook & Twitter statuses
- A relaxing anniversary trip to Monterey
- A great time of worship at the first Evening of Worship event we did at church.
- Various pictures of our pup.
- A fun Halloween trip to Disneyland
- A quick trip to San Diego.
- Various shots from Montana where we attended my dad and step-mom’s memorial service.
- A cold, holiday trip to San Francisco with some great friends.
- Various pictures of my family.
- A photo of my dad’s belt buckle.
- Various candid and not-so-candid shots of time spent with friends – some embarrassing, some not.
- A trip to New Orleans
- Several attempts at being “artsy” – like the one above.
The power of photographs is amazing…
