Momma Loves Them Too

A few weekends ago, Karen and I spent some time at Disneyland (WooHoo!). At one point, after walking around and standing in lines for about half of our 14-hour shift, we took a break, found a bench, and people watched…another fun activity to do at the park. [sometimes when i’m doing this, i wonder who is watching me and what are they observing, thinking, or saying. anyway…]

At one point, Karen made an observation that came to mind yesterday as I was talking with someone. As I recall, in effect she said:

“It’s weird to see all these people – regardless of what they look like, are wearing, or are doing – and think that their mom or somebody loves them.”

A profound statement.

Taking that further, consider the fact that God loves them – regardless of what they look like, are wearing, or are doing — or if anyone else loves them. Beyond that, there is nothing that they could do to make God love them any more or any less. God’s love is so unlike our condition-based love.

Chew on that for a sec…

My recollection of this yesterday? Ever run into someone you sometimes try to avoid? I did yesterday at work…

As I grimaced in my mind while the person escorted me back to my office and related their opinion on some stuff my department was doing [BTW, they’re also a “bit of a close talker”], Karen’s observation came to mind…as well as the fact that God loves this person, followed by “and who am I to treat them any different!”

Bonk! Ka-pow! OOOF!
