It’s funny the memories a word or phrase can conjure up.
We were in a used bookstore yesterday and this book, or more specifically, this author’s name caught my eye.
Not because of my enjoyment of this book.
Not because I recall enjoying any other books by Alcott.
Not even because of any wonderful memories I have from American Literature classes.
Simply because of the memories I have of my sister and I exclaiming the author’s name while playing a card game we had growing up…
We had this author’s version of “GO FISH” and, for some reason, Louisa May Alcott is one card/author that sticks in my mind…
In fact I can just hear myself (and my sister) saying those three names in a snide, antagonizing, and/or bragging tone!
Even when I saw that book on Sunday, the voice in my head journeyed back and shouted LOUISA MAY ALCOTT! – in a snide, antagonizing, and/or bragging tone, of course.
It’s funny the memories a word or phrase can conjure up.
