Training Journal – 5/5/13:
- Current plan: Big Sur Marathon Recovery Week (haha) / Horseshoe Lake 50K Training Plan
- Today’s session: 20 mile trail run
- Comments: At about mile 15, I did a “systems check” and wasn’t feeling a “20 miler” today, so I only did 18. Today was really about the time running, as I wanted to be out for four hours in prep for my 50K. I was out for 3:38:31 (doing a 12:04 overall pace avg / 11:26 moving pace avg) and did a mix of running, jogging and fast walking. Sheesh, you’d think I’d run a marathon a week ago or something! I’m hoping a taper week ahead of my 50K will be the difference – I did run 24.15 miles this week after my marathon. We’ll see!
