From this morning’s sixteen mile, out and back, blissful run…

…with the sound of Mooooosic on my run this morning. Today was my longest run in a while (21 miles in 3:03:48 @ 8:45/mi Strava) and my Garmin hosed up and didn’t record data right. Bummer. Hopefully it works again tomorrow.
At church this morning, the Mac that they use at the sound booth started making a weird noise during the sermon.
It was a low thumping noise that didn’t last too long, though I’m sure it seemed like a long time to the person working the booth.
Immediately, a certain commercial popped in my head…
Before I could share this funny insight with my wife, she leaned over and whispered in my ear:
“Boots and Pants and Boots and Pants and Boots and Pants and Boots and Pants.”
I love her so! She knows just how to make me smile!
I may not remember everything from college, but one thing that always comes to mind when I fly are “oxbow lakes” – from a geology course I took.
Funny the things we remember…
Oh, and I also spotted this hidden Mickey too (ok, maybe it’s just the hat):
2013 was an interesting year. A few highs, some lows, and a lot of mehs. Here’s to hoping that 2014 is a better year.
I will be posting a 2013 Training recap in the coming days. I was just looking at my stats this morning and can’t believe the year I’ve had! I’m really looking forward to what 2014 holds.
One change for 2014 is that I am taking a break from the “postaday” blog thing. As I’ve looked at the content of my 2013 posts, they’ve been, well, pretty boring. The majority were simply my daily “Training Journal” – hardly worth posting and really only posted to satisfy my “postaday” check mark. So, for 2014, I will only post when something strikes me as “postable”, significant milestones, race/run/ride reports, monthly training stats, and other stuff. I know that are some other blogging projects on WordPress, who knows, maybe tonight I will get motivated and join one…
Happy New Year!
