Just what it says…General
The post prompt from The Daily Post at WordPress.com today was:
Grab the nearest book (or website) to you right now. Jump to paragraph 3, second Sentence. Write it in a post.
Here goes…
BOOK:
Beyond Fear. Thinking Sensibly About Security in an Uncertain World, by Bruce Schneier. [Amazon]
SENTENCE:
From Chapter 1: All Security Involves Trade-offs, para 3, sentence 2:
“No one had ever done this before: hijack fuel-laden airplanes
and fly them into skyscrapers.”
wow…
I know there is a need for news and information, but…
At what point is it simply enough?
At what point does the coverage transition from information providing to sensationalizing?
When is the need to know trumped by stepping back and letting people get help, recover, and grieve … in private?
Do I really need to know everything about everything? And is that even possible or necessary?
Is this “need” simply a western-culture creation? Does this level of information actually benefit me?
What is your take on this?
This was my afternoon “activity” yesterday…fun, fun, fun!

If you’re not familiar with this procedure, the “graft” comes from the rook of your mouth…oh yeah!
Two more sessions…WooHoo!
Stop what your doing periodically today…this weekend and pray for the people of Japan.

I took this when we were in Monterey recently.
I got suckered into clicking this link today on Facebook…

After being notified it was a SCAM (thanks Oscar!), deleting it, and letting a few friends know about it as well, I checked out the actual video. Pretty cool…
Apparently, this guy (JK Keller) took a picture of himself every day for 8 years (1998-2006) and mashed it into a video. It looks like he continued through 2009 – as seen on his web page.
Sounds like a cool thing to do…I may have to start. See you in 8 years!
Have a great weekend!
