Snack Time

June 2, 2011 — 2 Comments

It’s funny – since starting my diet changing my way of eating over a year ago, my afternoon snacks have changed.

It used to be a candy bar, some cookies, or something along those lines…chased with a Diet Coke.  Now it’s something different.  Better for my health…waistline.

For a while, it was pretzels; but lately, my “go to” snack has become a fiber cereal/dried cranberries mix – a DIY trail mix.

YUMMO!

What’s your favorite afternoon snack?

What Song…?

Great video.  I often wonder the same thing when I see people wearing headphones…

BTW, while not wearing headphones as I write this, the song currently playing on my Genius mix is Sirens [iTunes, thesixtyone], by The Autumn Film [website, Twitter].  check’em out

What song are you listening to as you read this?

Any kid (or former kid) who has played with a Hot Wheel has dreamed this in their mind’s eye…with realistic sound effects…a cheering crowd…and a similar outcome (including the perfectly-placed logo shot at the end of the jump.)

C’mon, all you Hot Wheelers, you know you remember!

Why? Why not? How come?

Three questions constantly on my mind.

Three questions that most often remain unanswered.

But I press…

Duty & Cost

May 27, 2011 — Leave a comment

I’ve been listening to George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones and this line stuck in my mind the other day:

We all do our duty when there is no cost to it. — Maester Amon

This weekend, we remember those who paid the ultimate price for our country…for our freedom.

We remember those who did their duty, knowing the cost.

We remember and say thank you.
