At the summit, I was greeted by a coyote.  By the time I got my phone out, he was gone…

  • Current plan: Big Sur Marathon Training Plan – W14/D7
  • Today’s session: 12 mile long run
  • Comments: I did 13.1 @ 10:33/mi pace. Pace was faster, but I stopped for about 20 minutes at the peak and forgot to pause my Garmin.
  • Weekly mileage: Running: 37.01 / Bicycling: 16.11

I was working in the backyard today and this little guy caught my eye traversing our lawn…

We watched Les Misérables last weekend.

Needless to say, I have been humming one tune all week while I run:

Eat Your Veggies

I had to stop by the grocery on the way home from work to pick up some sourdough bread for dinner.

I also picked up some “veggies”…

  • Today’s session: 5 mile easy run @ 8:27-9:28 pace
  • Comments: I did 5.37 @ 8:03
  • Current plan: Big Sur Marathon Training Plan – W14D1
  • Today’s session: Cross Train: 60 minute bike ride
  • Comments: I rode 61 minutes for 16.1 miles @ 15.6 mph avg.

Today was the second of my two 20 milers on my Big Sur Marathon training plan. It was a great run, which included my Hurricane Point simulation, and I felt good after I got home…like I could have gone at least 6 more miles, but I’ll save that for April 28th.

Not exactly sure where that 3:00 pace burst came from.
Looking at the map, it could be the point when a turkey & I startled each other…

To quote Mr. James Brown, “I feeeeeeel good!” [bah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah!]

Now to spend the 2,300 calories I burned; actually, a total of 5,100 for the day now…hmmmmm.

  • Comments: I did 20.22 @ 8:45/mi pace. I bought some recovery compression socks last week and am giving them a try today to see how they work.
