Just what it says…General
Happy 82nd to my Father-in-law. We are especially missing him today – his first birthday without him.
I love this picture of him. It captures his smile, his easy-going attitude, and so many other things that were uniquely him. I truly can just hear him laugh when I see this picture.
He and my dad were two of the biggest influences in my life – hard workers, good men, … so much more. They both taught me so much – some things that, unfortunately, I’m only coming to appreciate now that they are both gone.
I simply hate that I can’t laugh, talk, … do whatever with them any more.

Color Of the Day:

I even wore black shorts and black slacks…
(OK, maybe orange for guys. Ladies will probably say one’s orange and the other is salmon or something.)
Training Journal – 9/17/13:
- Current plan: Foxy’s Fall Century Training Plan
- Today’s session: 20-mile stationary ride
- Comments: Final day of my biz trip, so I used the hotel fitness center again. Yep, getting my time in the saddle… I rode for 1:00:00 for 17.45 miles @ 17.5 mph avg on the sit-down bike machine. (I couldn’t get 20 miles in, since people were waiting for machines.) Since I travel home tomorrow and probably wouldn’t get a workout in, I threw in an easy 5K run on the treadmill after the ride…for good measure. I did 3.25 miles @ 8:57 avg pace.
Not that I was board at lunch; but, I always wondered if the earth would stop or something if I looped two PCs using GoToMyPC.
We’re still here, so I guess it’s Ok…
Training Journal – 9/11/13:
- Current plan: Foxy’s Fall Century Training Plan
- Today’s session: 8-mile run
- Comments: I did 8.53 miles @ 8:23 avg pace, avg cadence 96
Re my earlier Facebook status & tweet…Disney? I know, I’m not the best whistler…
Training Journal – 9/8/13:
- Current plan: Foxy’s Fall Century Training Plan
- Today’s session: 60-mile ride
- Comments: I rode 65.4 miles @ 17.2 mph avg, for 3:48:33 & avg cadence of 84. I had planned on doing hill repeats in Alum Rock Park, but it was closed because of fire danger today. I made up the miles…and then some!
- Weekly mileage: Running: 10.26 / Bicycling: 157.11
Had a nice, lazy, Labor Day…but that’s the way it’s supposed to be. Slept in until 0520(!), went for a nice ride, had pancakes, worked around the yard, took a short nap in my recliner, and now heading off to dinner.
Oh, and I also planned out my race calendar through the end of 2013 too! Woohoo!
All in all, a nice holiday… Hope you had a great one as well.
Training Journal – 9/2/13:
- Current plan: Mix of running and biking
- Today’s session: 2-Hour ride
- Comments: I rode for 2:08:25 for 36.52 miles @ 17.1 mph avg & avg cadence of 84. I thought about going for a trail run, but Alum Rock Park is normally closed on Mondays and I didn’t want to chance heading up there just to be disappointed.
