Archives For General

Just what it says…General

At church this morning, the Mac that they use at the sound booth started making a weird noise during the sermon.

It was a low thumping noise that didn’t last too long, though I’m sure it seemed like a long time to the person working the booth.

Immediately, a certain commercial popped in my head…

Before I could share this funny insight with my wife, she leaned over and whispered in my ear:

“Boots and Pants and Boots and Pants and Boots and Pants and Boots and Pants.”

I love her so! She knows just how to make me smile!

Oxbow Lake

I may not remember everything from college, but one thing that always comes to mind when I fly are “oxbow lakes” – from a geology course I took.

Funny the things we remember…

Oh, and I also spotted this hidden Mickey too (ok, maybe it’s just the hat):

Final Post for 2013

December 31, 2013 — 2 Comments

2013 was an interesting year. A few highs, some lows, and a lot of mehs. Here’s to hoping that 2014 is a better year.

I will be posting a 2013 Training recap in the coming days. I was just looking at my stats this morning and can’t believe the year I’ve had! I’m really looking forward to what 2014 holds.

One change for 2014 is that I am taking a break from the “postaday” blog thing. As I’ve looked at the content of my 2013 posts, they’ve been, well, pretty boring.  The majority were simply my daily “Training Journal” – hardly worth posting and really only posted to satisfy my “postaday” check mark. So, for 2014, I will only post when something strikes me as “postable”, significant milestones, race/run/ride reports, monthly training stats, and other stuff.  I know that are some other blogging projects on WordPress, who knows, maybe tonight I will get motivated and join one…

Happy New Year!

[inspiring read from]

Jacki Munzel is 50 years old and she’s no household name. The mother of three has neither Shaun White’s global notoriety, nor Lolo Jones’ marketing appeal.

But she’s beaten a debilitating eating disorder, Superstorm Sandy and an injury at the worst possible time to compete against athletes decades younger than her for a spot on the United States Olympic Team this winter.

I considered not even posting this after uploading to YouTube; but hey, I needed content for today’s post!

I really need to work on my iPhone, “steady cam” technique; but this is the best decorated house on my route so far this season.  From mile 4.2 this morning:

Maybe I will stick with stills…and even post one of this place tomorrow.
