I can now say that I’ve tasted Krystal – on Bourbon Street, no less. (Apologies to Chefs Prudhomme, Flay, Lagasse, Palladin, Brill, etc.)

…and yes, I did partake of the standard NOLA/Creole cuisine: Crawfish étouffée, Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice, Shrimp Creole, Gumbo, Beignets, Bread pudding, etc.!

Ferdi, OH MY!

Tonight’s dinner: The Ferdi Special at Mother’s Restaurant in NOLA.

THE CONTENTS: Mother’s best baked ham, roast beef, debris*, and gravy (plus slaw, mustard, pickles, & change.)

I went with the 2/3 version – no fries, just the Ferdi – and ate most of it.

Oh my, indeed.

Snack Time

June 2, 2011 — 2 Comments

It’s funny – since starting my diet changing my way of eating over a year ago, my afternoon snacks have changed.

It used to be a candy bar, some cookies, or something along those lines…chased with a Diet Coke.  Now it’s something different.  Better for my health…waistline.

For a while, it was pretzels; but lately, my “go to” snack has become a fiber cereal/dried cranberries mix – a DIY trail mix.

YUMMO!

What’s your favorite afternoon snack?
