My Day…

What does the 780.5g of carbs come from:

  • 12oz GU Brew
  • Picky Bar (Lauren’s Mega Nuts flavor)
  • Chocolate Milk pouch
  • Non-fat yogurt cup
  • Oatmeal/raisin/craisin combo
  • 2 bananas
  • 4 bagels
  • 4T reduced sugar strawberry jelly
  • 2 cups of white rice
  • 1 apple
  • 2 cups of spaghetti w/ ~2T marinara
  • Small salad w/ vinaigrette
  • Grande mocha frap, no whip!
  • 30 bite size swedish fish!

…all consumed before 9PM.

  • Today’s session: 3 mile easy run @ 9:09
  • Comments: I did 4.2 miles at 8:16. As shown above, today’s a day of carb loading for a Saturday morning race.

Saturday morning goodness!

  • Comments: Nada
  • Miles this week: 24.69

I saw this recipe this week and it seemed like an easy & good Sunday afternoon, snack making project.

S’mores Oatmeal Bites, via little bitty bakes blog. My mix netted 24, so they’re 46 calories each (1.3 g fat, 8.2g carbs, .5g protein)

  • Comments: Perfect weather for a run this morning. I did 14 @ 8:40 pace.

Scary Menu Item

I noticed this menu-item indicator at a restaurant we ate at recently. I didn’t partake, though I thought about it…maybe next time.

The restaurant was Mama’s on 39 in Huntington Beach.

  • Today’s session: 60-minute bike ride
  • Comments: First time on the bike in a month – schedule just didn’t allow factoring cross into the plan last month. I did 12.6 miles at an avg of 12.8 mph.

  • Comments: I did 14 @ 8:51, with a decent hill thrown in between miles 2 & 3. Very nice morning for a run, though I’m icing my left heel this afternoon.

1.9 lbs of goodness – I guess a full two pounds would be too much goodness…

  • Current plan: Half-marathon program
  • Today’s session: 5 mi Tempo Run, core 3 @ 8:22
  • Comments: My leg is still a bit tender, but I did 5.25 @ 8:37 – with the core, tempo miles at 8:25, 8:16, & 8:04.

Oh yeah it is!

  • Current plan: Half-marathon program
  • Today’s session: 4 mi Easy Run @ 9:19
  • Comments: I just wasn’t feeling it this morning – it felt like I had a muscle pull or pinched nerve in my leg – so I cut the run short and but still gritted out 3.58 @ 9:14. It worked itself out as the day progressed.
