You may have seen these billboards or read about this…

Great post about this at Albert Mohler’s blog.

“In Hebrews 9:28, we are taught that Christ will come a second time “to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” That is the faithful Christian response to the New Testament teachings about Christ’s coming. The church is not to be arrogantly setting dates, but instead to be eagerly waiting for him. Of that we can be truly certain.” — Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr

We’ve been watching this for a while…it finally started to bloom yesterday.

Just a few Tweets & a quote that I’ve been chewing on…

Tweets:

Thought: We are right to cherish God’s grace; yet, too often we cheapen it by our actions.  A while back, I posted, “If God meted out grace and mercy to me like i do to others, I’d be doomed.”  That’s something that is constantly on my mind…because I fail regularly.

Thought:  Though not a pastor, I “preach” or proclaim Christ regularly through the living of my life (actions, thoughts, words, etc.)  This tweet got me thinking about how we often live appearance-motivated lives versus being genuine.  We put on the desired/expected front of a “Christian” (which may deviate from the life Jesus actually modeled/called us to) and then expect others to model “us” instead of Jesus.

No man can wear one face to himself and another to the multitude without finally getting bewildered as to which may be true.

Thought: Ran across this today…kinda tied to the Piper tweet/thought.  God knows the “real” us – even though we fool ourselves and others.  He knows and still loves…and forgives.

As one who works in a office all day, this was enlightening.

Just How Dangerous Is Sitting All Day?

Sitting down, which most of us do for at least eight hours each day, might be the worst thing we do for our health all day.

Rant for the day…

I made hotel reservations for an upcoming business trip back in February, booking at a good rate and was happy…

I called today to change my departure date (leaving two days earlier) and was told that, due to high demand, the rate had increased by $30.  (So much for being honest.  The beans had been spilled – too late for backpedaling.)

So, by shortening my trip and giving them the room back for two nights (which they will sell for at least double what I was going to pay), I am paying more per night.

Oh, and the now-available conference rate is only available for a period shorter than I need – to make further changes, would incur a higher rate (double!) on the first few nights!  I’d be paying more in total for getting the cheaper conference rate!  no thank you…

Grrrrrrrrrr…  Hotel math – I just don’t get it!
