Giddy-up!

Giddy-up!

An awkward, “queue the crickets” moment from a conference I attended last week:
A presenter, who was discussing the security risks inherent in sharing too much on social media sites, flashed what she felt was a redacted LinkedIn profile page from someone who met specific search criteria for conference attendees.
It was clear, from the audience’s murmuring , she didn’t redact enough.
It was pretty easy to decipher where the person worked, who their clientele was, etc.
She proved her point and I’m positive there were quite a few nervous people in the audience.
I’m also pretty sure there was a ton of people who subsequently edited their profiles…immediately.
Low, high, no …
Good words…
O Love that will not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in thee;
I give thee back the life I owe,
That in thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be.
O light that followest all my way,
I yield my flickering torch to thee;
My heart restores its borrowed ray,
That in thy sunshine’s blaze its day
May brighter, fairer be.
O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain,
That morn shall tearless be.
O Cross that liftest up my head,
I dare not ask to fly from thee;
I lay in dust life’s glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red
Life that shall endless be.

I saw this recipe on MapMyFITNESS.com. It was pretty good and I can just imagine the possible variations.
Quick Banana Cobbler
Makes 2 servings*, total prep + cook time: 30 minutes
– 1 large banana, sliced thick

– Cinnamon, to taste
Preheat oven to 400°.
– Melt butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a medium saucepan.
– Stir in sliced bananas and coat thoroughly with the brown sugar mixture.
– Stir in your favorite granola and milk.
– Mix thoroughly and transfer to an oven-safe baking dish or ramekins.
Bake for 20-25 minutes.
*I enjoyed the whole thing! Topped with 2T of lite whipped topping, I calculate at 422 calories.
I bought a copy of a Da Jesus Book New Testament when we were in Hawaii earlier this year. Just noticed that they now have it on YouVersion, under the Hawai’i Pidgin language.
Here’s John 3:16:
“God wen get so plenny love an aloha fo da peopo inside da world, dat he wen send me, his one an ony Boy, so dat everybody dat trus me no get cut off from God, but get da real kine life dat stay to da max foeva.”

This conversation played in my head this morning at, ohhh about 0500…
MIND: “Wow, you’ve been running a while, go ahead & walk.”
BODY: “Nahh, you’ve got this – keep running!”
MIND: “Yeah, but you don’t wanna burn out. Hey, how ’bout walking to that tree – psst, no one will know anyway.”
BODY: “Keep Running. You got this. anyway, you’ll know – and you’re the one that counts.”
…I listened to my body.
Ladies and Gents, may I present the Chicken Pot Pie, ala Hash House a Go Go:

needless to say, all was NOT consumed…
Happy birthday, mom…miss hearing your voice and felling your hug.
