- Current plan: Foxy’s Fall Century Training Plan
- Today’s session: 20-mile ride
- Comments: I woke up about a hour before my alarm this morning (~0230) and decided to rest today. After yesterday’s 70-mile ride, I figured my somewhat stiff legs deserved a recovery day. I’ll be baaack on the road tomorrow. [feel free to say the bolded text in your best Arnold voice]

Color Of the Day:

I even wore black shorts and black slacks…
(OK, maybe orange for guys. Ladies will probably say one’s orange and the other is salmon or something.)
Training Journal – 9/17/13:

- Today’s session: 20-mile stationary ride
- Comments: Final day of my biz trip, so I used the hotel fitness center again. Yep, getting my time in the saddle… I rode for 1:00:00 for 17.45 miles @ 17.5 mph avg on the sit-down bike machine. (I couldn’t get 20 miles in, since people were waiting for machines.) Since I travel home tomorrow and probably wouldn’t get a workout in, I threw in an easy 5K run on the treadmill after the ride…for good measure. I did 3.25 miles @ 8:57 avg pace.

- Comments: Being on a biz trip for a few days, I broke form and used the hotel fitness center. Not what I prefer, but still got my time in the saddle. I rode for 1:02:00 for 20 miles @ 19.4 mph avg on the sit-down bike machine.

Last Thursday, I posted about a cool email I got. Here are the details!
A few weeks ago, I posted a “before” picture I found while looking for a few pictures for my wife. On a lark, I entered the before and after pictures in a contest I happened to see on Competitor.com called “Share Your RUNNOVATION” [link]. It’s a contest, co-sponsored by New Balance, where people submit before and after photos and share about how running has changed their life. Winners receive a pair of New Balance shoes and apparel (valued at $500) – Woohoo!
It turns out, I was selected as the winner for this week! Pretty cool and humbling, especially when I look at the first two winners…
Anyway, click on the photo to check out my Runnovation page…
