It saved my bacon this aftternoon evening tonight since the hotel’s business center computer/scanner was busted. Got an important document generated, printed, signed, and emailed to a colleague. WHEW!

Ah, the life of the ever-connected worker…

  • Current plan: Honolulu Marathon Training Plan
  • Today’s session: 3 mile run @ 9:09
  • Comments: I did 6.54 miles at 8:52. I’m on a trip and the route just lent itself to a 10K… 😉

  • Current plan: Half-marathon program
  • Today’s session: 10 miles @ 9:30
  • Comments: I did 10.54 @ 9:17. I’m in Florida and running in the humidity (even at 6a) was a challenge. I usually don’t take walk breaks, but took a couple this morning. I guess the next few days will be good practice for the Honolulu Marathon…

  2. I probably should have spent my lunch on that other thing…

Training Journal – 4/26/I12:

  • Current plan: Half-marathon program: taper week
  • Today’s session: 3 mile easy run / pacing dry run
  • Comments: Good 3.98 mile run. Pace plan of 8:52, 8:37, & 8:22. Results: 8:30, 8:29, & 8:24. I’m still a work in progress…

Training Journal – 2/29/12:

  • Current plan: 12K Training
  • Today’s session: 4 Mile Easy Run
  • Comments: Same as yesterday: Did a 6.2 instead – though a tempo run vs. a negative split test.  On the outbound leg of the out-and-back, I ran up on a skunk – which resulted in a 100 yard dash being incorporated into the tempo run!

An awkward, “queue the crickets” moment from a conference I attended last week:

A presenter, who was discussing the security risks inherent in sharing too much on social media sites, flashed what she felt was a redacted LinkedIn profile page from someone who met specific search criteria for conference attendees.

It was clear, from the audience’s murmuring , she didn’t redact enough.

It was pretty easy to decipher where the person worked, who their clientele was, etc.

She proved her point and I’m positive there were quite a few nervous people in the audience.

I’m also pretty sure there was a ton of people who subsequently edited their profiles…immediately.

Low, high, no …

The paradox of expectations.
